Adam Dorn is a composer and recording artist. His credits as a composer for film and television span the categories of long-form documentary, action movies, and comedies; as an independent musician, he draws from decades of performing and producing jazz, electronic, funk, and soul music.
He is most celebrated for his scores for critically acclaimed documentaries including Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind, Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic, and Enemies: The President, Justice and the FBI. He has scored numerous films in the Kickboxer action film franchise, the end title theme for Better Call Saul, and the score for Season 3 of the narrative podcast Serial. He also reimagined the iconic “Cantina theme” for the Star Wars “Galaxy’s Edge” cantina bar,
supervised by John Williams.
Dorn’s work as a composer builds upon his prolific recording career. Releasing music under the alias Mocean Worker since 1998, his songs have been placed extensively in film and television, including The Devil Wears Prada, The Bourne Supremacy, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Six Feet Under and The CSI franchise. As a producer and bassist, he contributed to Bill Frisell’s Unspeakable (Grammy for Jazz Album of the Year, 2005), Marcus Miller’s Afrodeezia (Grammy Nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, 2015), and the soundtrack to Wim Wenders’s Million Dollar Hotel. Throughout his versatile career, Dorn has collaborated with storied artists including Brian Eno, Marcus Miller, Hal Willner, Laurie Anderson, and many others.
